Beautiful china and Tea, the drink of the Gods
I went to see a movie about the Gods yesterday. It was jolly jolly good. Take your kids, or just go anyway.
The point of this post, though, is not the gods, nor tea itself, but the beautiful china cup I’ve been drinking my tea from this week. There is no doubt in my mind that drinking something lovely is even lovelier if the cup/glass/mug you drink from is also lovely. This week I received a gift of a small china mug, with this quote from Little Women on it: “She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain.”
You too should own a mug like this. It will relieve the biscuit-less state of your tea break if you happen to have given up biscuits for Lent.

Hi Maggi,
I’m curious. I would have liked to make a comment on the item about Stephen Cottrell and biscuits but comments aren’t allowed.
Any reason?
Toby.
hi toby, think I’ve fixed that glitch now!

I have always teased my Mum about preferring to drink her tea from a ‘proper’ cup and saucer (preferably poured from a china tea pot) but secretly I have to agree with her – it does taste better!
My favourite cup is a small china mug bearing the words ‘I’d rather be on the boat’ and now as a family we have a houseboat it has become true.
