Christian Bookshops crisis

On November 20, 2009 / By maggi dawn / Reply

I’ve been trying to carve out 15 minutes to blog about the crisis STL finds itself in, which, combined with the SPCK debacle of 2008, leaves “christian” bookshops in a quandary.

Phil Groom/Matt Wardman et al to the rescue – Phil has compiled a summary of how things are here:

New Ways of Being Bookshop « UKCBD: The Christian Bookshops Blog.

And Simon Jones of Bromley writes about the bookshop as a “missional” space on the high street.

  1. Thanks Maggi. Don’t know about coming to the rescue: more a shout-out to the trade to pull together; and whilst there’s plenty of applause there’s not much action so far.

That’s Matt who gets the credit for pulling that summary together, by the way, not me; and Simon’s gone global as Christian Retailing USA have picked up his post: ‘Missional Thinking’ about Christian Stores.
