DFS, Direct Funeral Services – are they dodgy?
Dave Faulkner reports that a funeral director, whose services are available nationwide via a website, is a dodgy dealer and should be avoided. BBC Watchdog did a piece on them last year. Here's what Dave says:
"…received an email overnight from a trusted friend, alerting me and other ministers to the fact that a funeral director with a very questionable history appears to be operating again. He has evidence of his activity in Woking in May.
The man’s name is Richard Sage. His companies are either called DFS, Direct Funeral Services or St Christopher’s – the last one being a business run from his villa on the Costa del Sol, offering funerals to expatriate British citizens.
If you come across him, beware. There is a seven-minute report on him from the BBC TV show Watchdog last November…"

This made me smile it^s a great video and made me realise how lucky I am – I live 30 seconds (walk) from the boulangerie 3 minutes from the supermarket 1 minute from my doctor and 7 minutes from church and the weekly market is seconds from my door! But in this small town there is very little social housing and we only have public transport because we are so close to Switzerland … It’s not just about individual choices but also about public policy, urban sprawl has taken over large tracts of the countryside I live in over the past 10 years and most of the hosues are built in cul de sacs
Meanwhile my pocket sized garden is not private and overlooked by people in neighbouring flats so I can’t have a row with my husband without the neighbours hearing – particularly in summer time! You’ll have to come visit sometime – by train of course!
richard sage is now in burnley lancashire trading under the name j kendal and sons
it seems that richard sage is in burnley conning more people and looks a lot like he will be moving on soon as he is getting into yet more debt and conning his own employees out of the well earned wages. This man is sneaky and manipulative and needs to be stopped from setting up more funeral services and conning greiving families.
