In the midst of the storm over Rome's invitation to disaffected Anglicans, a little light relief is required. If this story, doing the rounds in blogville, is a spoof, then light relief it is. The worry is that it could actually be for real, in which case it's not light relief but lighting fires.

– the website of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, NC, apparently reports that not only will it be burning all English Translations except the King James Version (maybe they don't know the original was written in Greek and Hebrew?) along with books by more than twenty authors whom they consider to be heretics:

Bill Hybels , John McArthur, James Dobson, Charles Swindoll , John
Piper, Chuck Colson, Tony Evans, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swagart, Mark
Driskol, Franklin Graham , Bill Bright, Tim Lahaye, Paula White, T.D.
Jakes, Benny Hinn , Joyce Myers, Brian McLaren, Robert Schuller, Mother
Teresa , The Pope , Rob Bell, Erwin McManus, Donald Miller, Shane
Claiborne, Brennan Manning, William Young, etc.

We are not burning Bibles written in other languages that are based
on the TR. We are not burning the Wycliffe, Tyndale, Geneva or other
translations that are based on the TR.

We will be serving Bar-b-Que Chicken, fried chicken, and all the sides.

Their website is password protected, and I felt life was too short to register. But there's the news report, which indicates that there are but fourteen members of this Church, a mere fraction of the number of authors, translators and artists whose work they will burn.
