Hendrik Kerstens
Whenever I go to London for a meeting, I always try to fit in an hour or so just making the most of being in the most wonderful city in the world. Yesterday I was down in Soho for a wedding rehearsal and took an hour at lunch to visit the National Portrait Gallery.
The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait prize is one of the current exhibitions. This photograph was one of the winning pieces, and one of my favourites. Kerstens has taken a whole series of portraits of his daughter, Paula, styled to look like the Dutch masters, but using contemporary stuff like silver foil, bin bags and carrier bags as their clothes. It's quite brilliant work.

Saw the heading and thought this was going to be a Philip Pullman quote. Thanks for posting this, I’d love to hear our political leaders comment on it!
What an amazing quote. Wow.
