spam and comments

Apologies to Ray, Christy and one or two other commenters – in the process of deleting the spam and a few rather nasty comments the blog has inadvertently lost some real and good comments too! Christy, I hope you find a good source of shirts. Ray, sorry I don’t know the answer either! "Poetry", I hope you manage to get published.

    Hi Maggie,
I agree that people who look at the Bible with fresh eyes can give new insights. You may not have come across this blog of the Bible – or at least the Old Testament – by David Plotz, a deputy editor of Slate, an online magazine in the US. He started with Genesis a years ago and is up to Ruth. It’s definitely non-theological. Complete archive at

  2. Thanks Maggie. I have found a number of Christian couples over the years weighed down by the burden of not being ‘certain’ that they were the ones God intended for each other. A theology of a number of possible futures many of which can work if you are who God wants you to be rather than do what God wants you to do works for me. And for them.
Oh, and the Slate Magazine stuff is brilliant. I second that.

  3. I agree Neale – I’ve been reading David Plotz since he started “Blogging the Bible”. Wondeful witty and thought provoking stuff. This link is quicker I think:
